New home openings will support strong sales into the winter

By Lucas on Dec 06, 2016

With many new home openings and releases last October, low-rise sales have been strong through November and into December, says Trimart Research Corporation in its latest report. Sales figures are still coming in from some builders in the Total Market Area (TMA), but it’s looking like this fall was one of the best-selling seasons of the last decade.

On this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list, there are a few highlighted communities that had very successful opening months:

Sunny Meadow in Brampton by Daniels Sunny Meadow by Daniels

Placing first with a tremendous 106 sales during its opening month is Sunny Meadow, a Daniels First Home community in Brampton. The community features urban townhomes ranging from 529 to 1,365 square feet with prices starting at $299,900.

There are a number of reasons why Sunny Meadow was a huge hit; first-time buyers rarely get an opportunity to buy low-rise in Brampton, construction was nearly complete at the time of launch, and there was a lot of hype built up because the opening was structured around a first-come-first-serve basis. We have to hand it to Daniels for knowing what the people want and giving it to them, time and time again.

Hello in Georgetown by Remington Homes Hello by Remington Homes

Coming in second is Hello, a new home community in Georgetown by Remington Homes. Hello features 30’, 36’, and 40’ detached homes ranging from 1,835 to 3,122 square feet, with prices starting at $787,990. Remington unveiled Hello a little while ago so this community was very highly anticipated. We’re not surprised to see that they saw 80 sales during the opening month.

Vista in Stouffville by Geranium Homes Vista by Geranium Homes

The third spot is taken by Vista at Cardinal Point, Geranium Homes’ final phase of their master-planned community in Stouffville, which saw 75 sales during opening month. Vista features urban townhomes ranging from 894 to 1,194 square feet. Geranium has a reputation in Stouffville for building innovative and cohesive communities, so we’re happy to see buyers getting in on Vista from the get-go!

Mulberry Meadows in Ajax by Sundial Homes Mulberry Meadows by Sundial Homes

Placing fourth with 25 sales in its opening month is Mulberry Meadows, a new home community in Ajax by Sundial Homes. The community features a wide selection of homes, including townhomes, semis, and 30’, 36’, and 40’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,494 to 2,768 square feet.

Seven Oaks in Oakville by Fernbrook Homes Seven Oaks by Fernbrook Homes

The final spot on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by Seven Oaks by Fernbrook Homes, which had nine sales last month. It wasn’t an opening month for Seven Oaks, but it’s notable that there were nine sales of these luxury homes! The Oakville community features townhomes and 38’ and 43’ detached homes, ranging from 2,129 to 3,791 square feet. Prices start from $769,990 and go up to more than $1.2 million.
