Reinventing the way Toronto urbanites conceptualize balconies, Freed Developments and architectsAlliance have unveiled their new ‘openair’ suites at Sixty Colborne Condos.

Sixty Colborne Condos will be the first building in Toronto with the innovative glass, sliding wall system technology.

Realizing the value balconies contribute to urban condominium life, the developers were determined to find a way to modify the original floorplans to offer residents this luxury without sacrificing apartment space.

‘Openair’ is the perfect compromise. The design comfortably combines the two spaces; a functional solution for apartments in a city like Toronto, where changing seasons render balcony space inefficient. Founder and principal of architectsAlliance Peter Clewes refers to this as “conscious city building.”

Sixty Colborne - Glass Sliding Door

Offered as an available upgrade to corner units of the building, residents will be able to slide 16’ glass panels along the perimeter of the wall, providing absolute control over the utility of that space all year-round. These corner suites start at $704,900 for 989 square feet.

With 252 suites, the 25-storey tower offers exceptional contemporary finishes by interior designer Johnson Chou. Suites ranging from 461 square feet to 1,400 square feet without ‘openair’ access start at $300,000. Premium amenities include a complete fitness area with a glass-enclosed swimming pool, a landscaped outdoor terrace with a lounge and a fully furnished guest suite.

Conveniently located east of the downtown core, residents will enjoy all the St. Lawrence community has to offer. Just a five minute walk to the lake, there is plenty of greenery in this part of the city. Amazing restaurants, boutiques and entertainment hotspots along The Esplanade are sure to appease all interests. Access to the King Subway Station and Union Station makes commuting to any part of the city easy.

The tower embodies Freed’s motto, “Respect the past, celebrate the present, and look forward…” Surrounded by historic buildings in a forward thinking, youthful and spirited community, this is the ideal location for an architecturally progressive development like Sixty Colborne.
