Minto expresses their love for Yorkville with an ice sculpture at Icefest!

Last weekend, the annual Icefest event returned to the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood in Toronto! It was the 11th annual Icefest, and what made this one super special was that Minto got involved by creating an ice sculpture and supporting the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Over the last decade, Icefest has raised $65,200 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, according to Briar de Lange, Executive Director of the Bloor-Yorkville BIA. The theme of this year’s Icefest was “Expressions of Love,” in honour of Valentine’s Day and Heart Month. Minto’s 8’ sculpture was based on the 25-storey Minto Yorkville Park condo, which is almost ready to start construction.

“We take pride in integrating our developments in a way that adds value to the whole neighbourhood and, ultimately, brings the community together,” says Amanda Wilson Watkins, Vice-President of Marketing and Sales for Minto. “Taking part in the Bloor-Yorkville Icefest is the perfect way to celebrate culture and engage with the local community.”

The Village of Yorkville Park and Cumberland Street was the main hub for Icefest where there were plenty of family activities, the 15th annual Sassafraz Ice Carving Competition, and other ice sculptures, in addition to Minto’s. In total, over 20,000 pounds of ice were transformed into expressions of love!

“At Minto, community involvement is part of our philosophy,” adds Watkins. “We are always coming up with creative ways to celebrate communities that we build in.”

Minto Yorkville Park

As of the end of 2015, Minto Yorkville Park was over 85% sold, so we imagine there aren’t that many suites remaining! The two+den and three-bedroom suites are sold out, which is promising because it looks like there are many end-users and even small families who have purchased at Minto Yorkville Park. There are a few one- and two-bedroom suites remaining, but you need to act quickly!

There used to be an old office tower at the corner of Cumberland and Bellair, where Minto Yorkville Park will rise, but the demolition moved below street level at the beginning of February 2016. Once the demolition crew has cleared away the old foundation, Minto will move in and start erecting the tower. This is expected to commence this spring.

We’re not surprised to see that Minto Yorkville Park is nearly sold out and that demolition is going so smoothly. When you combine a reputable and experienced developer like Minto with a prime downtown Toronto location, buyers can be confident in the final product that is to come.

In addition to the amazing neighbourhood amenities in Yorkville, such as the cafes, fine dining, art galleries, and high-end fashion boutiques, Minto Yorkville Park will also feature its own collection of stunning amenities.

On the seventh floor, Minto Yorkville Park will offer a rooftop terrace and the Yorkville Park Lounge. The terrace will have a fireplace to gather around on cozy evenings and there is plenty of seating and dining areas.

The second floor is where you will discover the rest of the building’s amenities, including another rooftop terrace, a dining room, a chef’s kitchen, another lounge, a fitness facility, a spin and stretching room, a locker lounge, change rooms, and a guest suite.
