Last week, the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) announced the four finalists for the Home Builder of the Year Award.

And the finalists are:

- Great Gulf Homes

- Mattamy Homes

- Monarch Corporation

- Tridel

“The Home Builder of the Year award highlights the builder who sets the standard for the rest of the industry by their leadership, helping improve the overall image of building and development in the GTA,” says BILD.

The judges based their decision on five principles:

  • Design and construction quality

  • Customer commitment

  • Professional development of staff

  • Contribution to the community

  • Contribution to the association and industry as a whole

About the finalists

Great Gulf Homes

Throughout Great Gulf’s 35-year history, they have built over 40,000 homes. Design, technology, and experience are the core values on which they build every house and condominium. The Great Gulf team is no stranger to the awards scene. In the last decade alone, they have raked in over 30 prestigious awards!

A few of their current communities include Yonge and Rich in Toronto, One Bloor in Yorkville, and King Oaks in King City. The list goes on, and the list of “coming soon” communities seems even longer!

With over 60,000 happy homeowners, Mattamy also boasts a pretty impressive awards shelf.

Monarch Corporation

For the last 70 years, Monarch has built high quality low-rise homes. In 1993, due to a strong demand for condominium living, they launched their high-rise division, and since then, have sold more than 7,000 suites! Just take a look at Etobicoke’s waterfront and you’ll understand Monarch’s commitment to building communities.

Monarch has a number of low-rise sites throughout Kleinburg, Scarborough, Caledon, and Kitchener. They are also about to launch their brand new boutique condo, Riva del Lago in Etobicoke.

Tridel

Tridel - another developer that needs no introduction. 80 years of construction experience puts Tridel at the forefront of condominium development. They pride themselves in being involved in every step of the development process, from land acquisition, zoning and design, to marketing, construction, customer care, and property management.

Tridel constantly has a number of developments in the works. At the moment, the Toronto Bayside master-plan and Alexandra Park revitalization are their largest developments.

Each builder/developer brings a lot to the table. Who do you think will win? We’ll just have to wait until April 25 when the winner is announced at the 34th Annual BILD Awards!
