Expect to see a lot of new low-rise sales this spring!

By Lucas on Feb 16, 2016

Due to low interest rates and 12 months of strong employment opportunities across Canada, Trimart Research Corporation is predicting that the Total Market Area’s (TMA) new low-rise market will show strong sales through spring 2016.

According to a recent announcement by Statistics Canada, jobs fell by 5,700 in January 2016, but in the 12 months leading to that month, employment increased by 125,000 and the labour force jumped by 250,000. Trimart believes that Richmond Hill, Markham, Oakville, and Brampton will see a lot of new home sales this spring.

Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:

Trafalgar Landing by Great Gulf Trafalgar Landing by Great Gulf

Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list with 13 sales last month is Trafalgar Landing in Oakville by Great Gulf. This community features 20’ townhomes ranging from 1,815 to 2,175 square feet with prices starting at $604,990. Last year, there were 1,519 new low-rise sales in Oakville, which was the third most in the TMA. With so many good builders involved in the development of the town, 2016 should be just as (if not more) successful!

Spring Valley Junction by Lindvest Spring Valley Junction by Lindvest

Coming in second is Spring Valley Junction by Lindvest, a Brampton community that had 12 sales last month. The community features 38’ and 41’ detached homes ranging from 1,953 to 3,467 square feet, with prices starting at $639,000. Last year, Brampton had the most new low-rise sales in the TMA with 6,661. We won’t be surprised if Brampton is once again a top seller by a landslide.

Springvalley by Royal Pine Homes Springvalley by Royal Pine Homes

Tying for second is another Brampton community with a similar name; Springvalley Village by Royal Pine Homes. This Springvalley community features semis and 38’ detached homes ranging from 1,615 to 3,375 square feet, and prices starting from $517,900. Royal Pine is currently offering some great purchasing incentives, including a $5,000 upgrade bonus for the semis and a $10,000 upgrade bonus for the 38’ detached homes.

Coming in third with 10 sales last month is Greenpark Markham, which is now sold out! This community features 41’ detached homes and prices ranged from more than $1.3 million. If you’re interested in purchasing from Greenpark and want to live in Markham, you should keep your eye on Markham Meadows, which is coming soon!

Mayfield Village by Aspen Ridge Homes Mayfield Village by Aspen Ridge Homes

Snagging the final position on the Trimart Hot Spots list with six sales last month is Mayfield Village, a Brampton master-plan by Aspen Ridge Homes. This community features a wide variety of home types, including 20’ rear lane townhomes, 25’ townhomes, 30’ and 32’ semis, and 38’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,484 to 2,564 square feet, and prices start as low as $453,990.
