5 décor tips to make you “fall” for your home over the weekend!

It’s officially fall! I am lucky enough to split my time working in California and the GTA. After a week of scorching weather in LA, I was happy to be back to a brisk evening in Toronto.

Changing up a few things in home décor to go along with the seasons, is as commonplace to me as changing up an outfit to prepare for fall. I’ve prepared 5 tips to inspire you to incorporate a little of the new season into your home, in just a weekend or less!

1) Paint a wall, room or piece of furniture with a fall inspired colour

Choose a fall inspired colour scheme and give new life to a wall, an entire room or a piece of furniture. Think about combining deep blue hues, yellow and gold, or the classic fall inspired red, brown, orange, yellow palette.

2) Bring nature indoors

Fall brings beautiful, warm and enticing colours that can be incorporated in interior décor. Many of these elements can make it straight from the woods into your home.

JA fall 5 Pick branches of changing leaves and display in the same containers as you might display fresh flowers in the summer months.

3) Make a craft to embellish any room

Those same outdoor elements can be the basis for fun and simple crafts, for the whole family.

JA fall 6 Pick a few items from a nature walk; add a piece of string, tie around a menu or write a special note for each guest of why you are thankful to have them in your life!

4) Theme a table or room

Take an autumn theme like Thanksgiving or Halloween and go overboard!

JA fall 8 Think beyond the front door! Create a Halloween inspired table setting that your guests or children will find frightfully appealing!

JA fall 9 You may want to have your Thanksgiving meal outside? Provide a cozy throw for each guest and embrace the outdoors.

5) Accessorize using fall colours.

Sometimes it only takes one or two accessories to change up and embrace the new season in your room.
