It was sunny and 14 degrees celsius earlier this week, and now it’s March, so spring is obviously on the horizon (though snow is in the forecast). After experiencing insanely freezing temperatures in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) earlier this winter, we can’t wait for the warm weather, which is why we’re getting a jump on our spring tips series!
For the entire month, we’re featuring spring tips for homeowners and tenants. We’re highlighting some home maintenance tips, renovation projects you may want to take on, and of course, plenty of home decor tricks and pointers.
Interior designer, Jo-Ann Capelaci, will share her wisdom on how to embrace the spring vibe in your home, while Canada’s gardening guru, Mark Cullen, will focus on how you can get your property ready to look its best for the season.
Everyone’s favourite millennial writer, Sumiko Wilson, will also have a few spring tips for younger homeowners (and homeowners that are young at heart). For her first post, she’ll be exploring how to be productive at home on dreary rainy days. The first tip may be something about breaking your addiction to Netflix.
As you’re likely aware, spring is also a busy time for new home openings, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the industry and also attending some events.
Homes By DeSantis has Centreville Towns in the works in the heart of Beamsville; Marquee on the Mountain by Wyatt Development Group is coming soon to Hamilton; and Daniels is launching Dueast Boutique – East Residence in Regent Park in Toronto!
While the new home industry may be busier this spring compared to the first two months of the year, it’s important to remember that there were record high sales and prices in the GTA in 2017. That means 2018 will appear weaker, but in reality, we’re just balancing out. The new home market won’t see a real rebound until later this summer or early fall.
With warmer weather on the horizon, many new home developments and communities in the pipeline, and strong buyer demand throughout the GTA and beyond, we can’t wait to be in the full swing of spring!
