If you’re a follower of the Newinhomes.com Blog, you know that we keep our eye out for development everywhere, be it Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, or even Vancouver. One area that we haven't touched on is Fort Erie, mainly because applications for mid-rise, boutique condominiums are rare for the town. Fort Erie is known better for its horse racing and the local Friendship Festival than condos. Recently, there has been a push for a mid-rise condo for a site at Crystal Beach.

The Town of Fort Erie Partners with Molinaro Group

Back in 2001, the Town of Fort Erie purchased the plot at the corner of Beachwood Ave. and Fort Erie Rd. with the plan to expand the public beach land and add more infrastructure to the Fort Erie Waterfront. Between 2001 and 2008, the Town invested in the land, and made plans to partner with a developer. In 2009, the Town chose to partner with Molinaro Group.

The Plans for South Beach

The Town of Fort Erie and Molinaro Group are planning to develop a 12-storey boutique condo. Dubbed “South Beach: Crystal Beach Condominiums,” the plan calls for 87 suites, and a design inspired by the bright future of the Crystal Beach community. While we still await word on more details, such as suite finishes and amenity plans, there is no doubt that South Beach will be a real game changer for the Fort Erie Waterfront.

Molinaro Group’s impressive portfolio

Molinaro Group has been extremely busy over the past few years. They finished up at Strata in Burlington, and are in the middle of construction at Paradise Towns in Hamilton. In addition to South Beach, Molinaro Group will soon be releasing more information on Ovation Condos in Hamilton, as well as their massive four-tower plan at the Burlington Go Station.
