New low-rise sales are strong despite economic uncertainty

By Lucas on Jan 18, 2016

With the Canadian dollar dropping dramatically with no real sign of stopping, there has been a sense of uncertainty about the amount of economic growth there will be in 2016. According to Trimart Research Corporation, this uncertainty hasn’t affected new low-rise sales.

In Ontario, home values are up, and unemployment rates and gas prices are down. People are supposedly managing their debt better due to this uncertainty. While new low-rise sales have been steady, Trimart believes that builders will be launching some innovative marketing strategies to appeal to prospective purchasers.

Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:

Hawthorne South Village in Milton by Mattamy Homes Hawthorne South Village by Mattamy Homes

Coming in first on this week’s Hot Spots list is Hawthorne South Village, a very popular Milton community by Mattamy Homes that saw 31 sales over the last month. There is a new release of village homes, rear lane townhomes, and two-storey townhomes coming soon. Currently, there are 30’, 34’, 36’, and 43’ detached homes available, ranging from 1,517 to 3,252 square feet, with prices starting at $535,990.

Trafalgar Landing features 20’ townhomes ranging from 1,812 to 2,175 square feet, with prices starting at $604,990. It’s not surprising to see Milton and Oakville atop the Hot Spots list because they are a couple of the most most popular cities of 2015 for new low-rise sales.

The homes range from 1,676 to 3,174 square feet and prices start from $464,900. As Trimart mentioned it its report, Ontario home values are up and they will only be going up more throughout 2016, and Brampton is one of the fastest growing cities in the province!
