Make the Most of Fall at the MeadowGreen Launch in Brampton

By Jen Taylor on Oct 17, 2014

This weekend, Remington Homes is launching MeadowGreen, a community of detached homes, townhomes and semis located at Mississauga Road and Steeles in South Brampton. Dedicated to creating exceptional communities, Remington Homes is kicking off the launch with a VIP Apple Harvest Event to ensure that visitors get a chance to see the new location while also enjoying the unusually warm fall weather and spending quality time with the family. The event, which starts at 11 am on Saturday October 18th, also emphasizes the new neighbourhood’s ideal location within reach of both Brampton’s amenities and the expansive countryside.

Straddling the city and the country

The MeadowGreen development is a master-planned community featuring 38’ and 46’ lots located within a close proximity to excellent schools, quality shopping, and restaurants, as well as breathtaking natural landscapes and manicured golf courses.

Young and growing families will have access to a number of exceptional schools including The Lynn-Rose Heights Private School, a designated International Baccalaureate institution. Families looking to enroll their students in french-immersion will also appreciate the neighbourhood’s proximity to the École élémentaire catholique Ange-Gabriel.

Outside of the classroom, children have access to excellent recreational facilities both privately and through the City of Brampton. The rich heritage of the region also provides myriad educational opportunities. The downtown core alone is home to two of the city’s important heritage sites; the Alderlea estate dating back to 1865, and The Capitol Theater, which opened in 1923.

Downtown Brampton, often considered to be the historic heart of the city, is also home to restaurants, shopping, and a number of community events including the BBQ Lunch in Garden Square and Motorcycle Mondays. Additionally, every Saturday residents can browse the Brampton Farmers Market,  where fresh produce and original artwork are available from over 90 vendors!

To the North of MeadowGreen lies Eldorado Park, home to Brampton’s outdoor pool. In the summer, residents can cool off in the community pool before enjoying a picnic lunch under the shade of the park’s mature trees. Nearby, the Credit River winds through the Meadowvale Conservation Area, a protected natural and recreational space. Here visitors can hike along the Glassford Trail, spot birds of prey, and uncover the remains of historic settlements. For those who enjoy organized sports, The Meadowvale Sports Park offers baseball diamonds and soccer fields. There are also at least four golf courses within a ten minute drive of MeadowGreen, the closest being the recently renovated Lionhead Golf and Country Club.

As Canada’s fourth-fastest growing community, Brampton also features a new rapid transit system - ZUM - which will soon be connected to the Mount Pleasant GO Station. MeadowGreen is also a short drive from major highways including the 401 and 407.

Masters in mixed-use neighbourhoods

Remington’s 25 years of experience coupled with an open-minded approach to development has created innovative and dynamic communities that have exceeded the public’s expectations. Their twitter feed is peppered with posts that reveal the company is taking an interest in the strategies that cities, such as Melbourne, are undertaking to better implement mixed-use development.

The Globe and Mail recently highlighted the Remington Group’s Markham project and their outstanding efforts to put the principles of the New Urbanism movement into practice. Remington worked with architects to design a mixed-use neighbourhood that eschewed traditional suburban aesthetics and emphasized the pedestrian over the automobile, integrating commercial and private spaces to create the feeling of an urban community within a suburban setting.

Don’t miss an opportunity to be part of Remington’s next community. This weekend’s Apple Harvest Event will take place just 10 minutes away from the MeadowGreen site at 15464 on 10th Sideroad.
