Lago and Riva del Lago in Etobicoke have topped off!

By Lucas on Apr 26, 2016

The last time we ventured out to the Humber Bay area on Etobicoke’s waterfront, Mattamy was breaking ground at Riva del Lago. This time, the construction team was celebrating topping off Lago and Riva with a big barbecue lunch!

Topping off is an important milestone because the majority of the trades that have been working on site for more than a year are now finished. Now, work on the interior will really start to fly. There is still some more to be done on the balconies on the higher floors, so a few of the trades will stick around for a little while longer.

Standing 50 storeys, sporting sleek wraparound balconies that are staggered, Lago is a landmark condo tower for Etobicoke’s growing waterfront skyline. From somewhere  downtown Toronto with a view, a glance to the west on a clear day will prove that Humber Bay is really starting to take shape.

While the construction team stood in line for barbecue, we popped into the hoist and went up to floor 48 to check out progress at the top of the tower (but really we went up mostly for the views!). Whoever’s living on the 48th floor, we are jealous of your panoramic views. There are no neighbouring towers blocking your view; you can see the shoreline curve all the way to downtown Toronto.

It was a foggy day and it was raining a little bit, but that didn’t ruin the views. To the west, low-rise and mid-rise buildings and parks stretched for kilometers. To the south, there are a few high-rises , but you can see clear over them. And to the east, the lake goes on forever. Thanks to the Waterfront Trail and Humber Bay Park, there is also plenty of green space in your view, in addition to the blue space.

Living at Lago and Riva del Lago

At Lago, the taller of the two condo buildings, there is only one plan remaining; a 1,083 square foot, two-bedroom+den suite. This suite offers a northeastern exposure and a balcony that wraps around the north and east sides, so you have incredible views of downtown Toronto. This two-bedroom+den suite starts from $743,990.

A few of the interior features and finishes include single-plank laminate flooring, marble or porcelain tile, 9’ ceilings, granite or composite quartz countertops with a square edge, a deep stainless steel sink, a spacious walk-in closet in the master bedroom (some have built-in organizers), and the standalone showers have spa-inspired rain showerheads.

Riva del Lago is the more boutique option; the building is 16 storeys tall and there are only 155 suites in total. There is a wide selection of suites available with one-bedroom+den, two-bedroom, and two-bedroom+den plans (the majority are two-bedrooms). The suites range from 674 to 1,188 square feet and prices start at $299,990.

Some of the interior features and finishes at Riva del Lago include laminate flooring, 9’ ceilings, brand name stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and custom designed vanity mirrors with matching cabinetry.
