Fall has arrived and the holidays are just around the corner! This new season is the start of upcoming festivities for many of us. I have assembled five fall themed centerpieces as inspiration to transform your dining area for your next get-together!
1) Baby’s breath with white pumpkins
Create a whimsical vibe with your fall centerpiece by incorporating bundles of baby’s breath with white pumpkins! The classic and delicate, soft white blooms and organic vines will help turn your centerpiece into a romantic and natural focal point.
Stick with the neutral colour palette of the baby’s breath and add decorative pieces that are in various shades of grey, white, and sage green to continue the soft effect throughout the rest of your décor.
2) Craft paper place settings
I love this easy and effective way to create a unique table setting using craft paper and your ingenuity. Personalize place settings for your guests using black or tinted marker. Then add a repetition of fall themed items for the centre of the table such as candles, mini pumpkins and sprigs of greenery. Clear glassware will keep things simple.
3) Use flowers and food
Go on a hunting and gathering nature walk to find items to incorporate into your fall inspired table arrangement. Then add fresh flowers, either store bought or from your garden, to combine the desired hue for your table setting.
Mix in fresh fruit that can be eaten from the table; pears, apples, figs or dried varieties. For variation, try splashing in other natural elements that are indicative of the fall season. Acorns are a great material to use as vase fillers! Other effective natural elements are seeds, pine cones, and nuts.
4) Transforming succulents
Succulents are my go to interior plant to soften the décor. They are easy to maintain and integrate nicely in almost any room. Use real when possible however there are many good looking artificial options on the market as well.
You can re-vamp summer succulents into a contemporary and visually interesting fall centerpiece. Try various size pumpkins to act as the pots. Use a little bit of paint to tone down the orange hue if desired, and create an artful and minimal decoration for your space.
5) The kid’s table
Sometimes it is a good idea for the kiddies to have their own dining table either to free-up more room for the main dining area, or to create a dedicated area children have helped create that will be special to them.
Chances are your children will enjoy having their own dining experience if they have helped to put it together. Items can include crafts such as crayons to keep them occupied or perhaps games, for example checkers that can keep them entertained.
Glam up your table with satin ribbons and metallic paints or create a rustic setting using natural elements such as branches, food and flowers. No matter what your desired theme, celebrating the season will be enhanced with a unique centerpiece on your dining table.
Whether your preference is modern or traditional, formal or simply stated, we have many more ideas on our Pinterest board. In fact I couldn’t stop pinning! I hope I have inspired you to turn your dining table into the star of your holiday entertaining!
