First look at the Aura Penthouses, the highest condo units in Canada

We were fortunate enough to be invited to the penthouse unveiling at Canderel Residential’s Aura, the tallest condo in Canada. If you want to live atop it all with a view of everything, Aura is the only place where you can literally do just that.

“It’s been 10 years in the making to be able to get to this stage,” said Riz Dhanji, VP Sales and Marketing, Canderel. “It really is a monument for the city, it’s incredible on the city skyline. I don’t think we’re going to see another condo this big for a long time - it just takes a long time to do it - and so we’re really excited to be able to be the first on this.”

“From a timing perspective, the forming - forming meaning concrete and rebar placement - it took us three and a half years to do the structural concrete portion of this building,” explained Robinson. “From start to end, it was four and a half years to build from ground up and actually enclose the tower.”

“We had to rethink and reinvent throughout the design and the construction process,” added Graziani. “Today, at 273 meters of height, Aura is the tallest residential tower in Canada and is number 20 in the world.”

Graziani also mentioned that Aura defines a few firsts for the City of Toronto. It was the first tower proposed at the height of 78 storeys with the capability of going to 90. And before the City had a formal design review process, Aura underwent a design review of its own, which was led by a panel of five esteemed architects from across North America.

It was unfortunately a cloudy day, but the views were still pretty amazing.

Aura penthouses: living above it all

The initial plan was for Aura to have one large penthouse on the 79th floor, but Canderel made the decision to separate the floor into four suites. One suite has already sold, so what remains are suites 7902, 7907, and 7910; the second two have been fully decorated for touring purposes.

“We find that buyers looking for penthouse residences still need some help visualizing the luxurious lifestyle available to them,” said Dhanji. “So to help prospective buyers understand how these spaces can reflect their lifestyle and standard of living, we turned to our in-house team of stylists and designers, led by Kathy Chow, to fully finish two of the three available penthouse suites. The results are two of the city’s most luxurious penthouse suites anywhere on the market.”

Prices start at $2.4 million, with sizes reaching 2,201 square feet, 2,961, and 3,055 square feet, respectively. These three floor plans are available on the three levels below the penthouse level, but only the top floor has 12’ 6” ceilings and hundreds of thousands of dollars of upgraded features and finishes.

Some of the high end features and finishes include wide plank wood flooring, limestone tile flooring in the foyer, marble slab kitchen countertops, SubZero, Miele, and Wolf appliances, freestanding tubs, and heated marble flooring in the master-bedroom. The list of stunning features goes on, but you should really just see it all for yourself.

“While Aura is Canada’s tallest condominium, it also was regarded as one of the country’s fastest selling condominium launches,” said Dhanji. “And we anticipate the same level of interest and velocity of sales as we launch this new limited collection of penthouse suites.
