Enigma on the Park Putting Bloordale Village on the Map

Over the last few years, condo developers have realized that high-rise living isn’t for everyone. That’s why Toronto has seen a handful of luxury boutique condos popping up around the city, and one of the latest is Aragon Properties’ Enigma on the Park in the up-and-coming Bloordale Village neighbourhood.

Stepping away from your typical glass box that some have criticized Toronto about, Quadrangle Architects have designed an angular building that will definitely stand out rising on the edge of MacGregor Park. While Quadrangle has once again come up with an eye-catching design, the use of paneling and cantilevered features will actually make the building appear smaller than it is, as if it were embracing or opening up to the natural surroundings.

“Enigma on the Park creates a downtown living experience that’s a richer alternative to the big box condominium lifestyle,” says Ralph Fox, Enigma on the Park sales manager from Sage Real Estate. “Boutique condominiums are becoming increasingly popular as people value community, individuality and human interactions.”

Aragon and Quadrangle really nailed it on the individuality factor. There are 86 loft-style condo units and parkside townhomes at Enigma, and 56 unique floorplans. Usually, the number of floorplans is a way smaller fraction of the total number of units, but in this case, the condo features an extensive variety of distinct designs.

The units at Enigma range from 422 to 1,567 square feet and boast a wide variety of quality interior features and finishes, including wide-plank hardwood flooring, 9’ ceilings, and most units have a balcony or patio, while the penthouses have spacious terraces. The stylish kitchens feature quartz countertops, Kohler fixtures, and seven-piece Blomberg and AEG appliance packages. The luxurious bathrooms feature deep soaker tubs and separate walk-in showers.

Of course, Enigma will also offer many amenities, including a fully equipped gym, theatre, dog washing station, and a rooftop lounge with a fire pit and barbecues. It’s refreshing to see another developer embracing the pet-owner homebuyers, and it makes a lot of sense at this location, too, since the condo is right on the park.

Enigma in Bloordale Village

We called Bloordale Village an up-and-coming neighbourhood, but the truth is that this area has been going strong for a long time now, it’s just that people are only really starting to take notice. Located near Bloor and Lansdowne, Enigma will be rising in the heart of an established neighbourhood that has the charm of a village and the reputation of a rising art district.

Like any village, your own two feet or maybe a set of bicycle wheels would suffice as your only methods of transportation. The neighbourhood receives an 88 on Walkscore.com, meaning it is “Very Walkable.” Need a coffee on your way to work? Stop in at Bloor Barista for one of the best lattes you’ve ever had. Maybe you need to take a break from your work because your stomach is grumbling, Brock Sandwich is the perfect place to grab a vegan bbq smoked jackfruit sandwich. All of Bloor between Lansdowne and Dufferin is lined with bike shops, cafes, restaurants, and other retail.

Walkscore.com gives Bloordale Village a 99 Transit Score because of its proximity to not only Dundas West Subway Station, Lansdowne Station, and Dufferin Station, but also the Bloor GO Station Rail, which will be the only central stop for the Union Pearson Express when it is completed next year.
