Adi Development Group Raises Over $12,500 for the CDA

The whole team here at Newinhomes.com loves when a builder/developer continuously gives back to the community in which they are building. Adi Development Group is one of those developers.

Nearly a year ago, when Adi Development hosted their preview for LINK Condos + Towns, they teamed up with a Burlington-based art initiative called No Vacancy that provided painters to live paint during the event. When a series of photographs and the paintings were auctioned off, Adi Development raised more than $7,000 for the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA).

Recently, Adi Development hosted another event, called REBOOT, to raise more money for the CDA. Adi Development and the other sponsors (Gold level sponsors: Adi Development Group, Fortress Real Developments Inc., DTZ, and UrbanTech West. Silver level sponsors: RBC Royal Bank, RBC Real Estate Markets, Baker Real Estate Inc., Lafarge and Cameron Stevens Mortgage Capital Ltd. Bronze level sponsors: Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, New Home & Condo Guide, Feltmate Delibato Heagle LLP, Permacon, Bell Fibe, Vita Graphica, Trubody Fitness and RUHTRA Productions) invited the community to participate in an outdoor bootcamp fundraiser. The one-hour bootcamp circuit, lead by Trubody Fitness, was followed by a diabetic-friendly barbecue lunch and prizes were handed out.

“Diabetes impacts my family. It affects so many lives and the problem is growing. REBOOT is a way for us to promote the importance of staying active and eating right while raising funds and helping the CDA to establish a greater presence in Burlington. Diabetes impacts my family, but it also impacts our entire community,” said Tariq Adi, president and CEO of Adi Development.

“The turnout was phenomenal. The energy was incredible, it was a lot of fun. The workout was intense, but we really felt like a team. We even had neighbours walking by that came over to join us on the spot. We definitely accomplished our goal of starting this conversation about the importance of health in our community and we raised over $12,500 for the CDA. That's something we're incredibly proud of and we truly thank our incredible sponsors for helping to make that happen,” Adi continued.

The CDA’s mission is to help those who struggle with diabetes to live a healthy life while research and work is conducted to find a cure. Currently, there is no way to prevent Type 1 diabetes, so funding this kind of research is very important to the millions of Canadians who suffer from diabetes on a daily basis.

“The event was a great precursor to living well, eating well and being physically active! Lifestyle change is key to prevention as well as maintaining a healthy glucose level for type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics. It also demonstrated that you can be physically active while having fun, and eat delicious food that is healthy,” said Lori Gregory, CDA Manager of Mission Funding Ontario.

“Working together with Adi, we have developed a partnership that continues to grow as they support and host local community events that raise funds and awareness for the CDA. Adi Development Group is the poster child of what a true ambassador is for the Canadian Diabetes Association. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts and continued support,” Gregory added.
