With approximately two centuries of new home building experience behind this new community in Whitby, it would be an understatement to say we’re looking forward to learning more about Whitby Meadows.
There are six builders launching Whitby Meadows; Arista Homes, Deco Homes, Fieldgate Homes, Great Gulf, OPUS Homes, and Paradise Developments. We’ve seen a few of these builders team up before at past and current communities in places like Brampton and Kleinburg, and they’ve always been successful. Now that this strong team has set their sights on west Whitby, there’s reason to believe that Whitby will be a hot spot for new low-rise development in 2017.

As Andrews points out, there has been a lot of interest from people currently residing in and around Toronto. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of condo owners deciding to move-up in Whitby because the price point will be more affordable than if they were to purchase a new low-rise home closer to the 416.
The Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) just released its new home sales figures for October 2016, announcing that the average price for a new low-rise home in the GTA was $937,689. Yes, Whitby is still in the GTA, but it is located in Durham Region which is poised for growth. On average, prices are lower in Durham, so this is a great opportunity for growing families.
“It’s true that there is a lot of growth planned for Whitby, and the city already has many well established amenities, a great downtown and a beautiful waterfront that’s just minutes from Whitby Meadows,” Andrews adds. “There’s a good mix of mom and pop shops and big box stores in Whitby, so there’s something for everyone.”
Located at Rossland Road West and Coronation Road, Whitby Meadows is surrounded by schools, grocery stores, banks, plenty of shopping, and parks. At the heart of Whitby Meadows, there will be a 10-acre park with sports fields, courts, and a children’s playground. Plus, there is also a proposed onsite public school and network of community trails ideal for hiking and biking.
Thanks to easy access to the Whitby GO Station, Highway 401, and the new 407 expansion, Whitby Meadows is a great community for commuters, whether you’re travelling east or west.
