Odds are, you’ve already set up a Christmas tree, but there are definitely a few people out there who live in a smaller space, perhaps a condo, that haven’t set up a tree because it will take up too much room. Don’t worry, just because you live in a condo, doesn’t mean you need to give up the traditional tree! Here are five different space efficient Christmas trees for condo owners:

Tabletop Tree: When you live in 400 or 500 square foot condo, floor space is crucial. It seems like the average family keeps their trees up for about a month, sometimes longer. If you put a full size tree in your living room, you’ll probably have to slide a few things around, making for a more crammed living arrangement for all of December. The first space-saving tree we recommend is the tabletop tree. These are perfect for side tables and coffee tables, and if you’re feeling fancy, you can purchase a corner pedestal just for the tree!

Half Tree: Maybe a small tabletop tree wouldn’t cut it for you. Why not purchase a half tree and put it right up against one of your walls? In fact, you can even pick up half trees at Walmart that can be mounted upside down as if it were growing from the ceiling! That way, you have a quirky tree that’s extremely noticeable, it’s a conversation piece at your holiday party, and you don’t take up any floor space.

Wall Decal Tree: Maybe mounting a tree against your ceiling involves too much handy work. That’s understandable. The wall decal tree might be perfect for you. You can purchase a variety of creative decals online at etsy.com. Installation is easy, there’s no mess, and you don’t have branches taking up walking or sitting space. The best thing about wall decals is that you can get a new one every year or have more than one tree throughout your home.

Wireframe Tree: The only downside of a wall decal is that you can’t hang ornaments, ribbons, or lights from it! If these are crucial components of your holiday decorations, a wireframe tree outline would do the trick. All you have to do is hang it on the wall and then decorate it as if it were a regular tree, except it’s flat and not taking up valuable square footage.

Ladder Tree: This idea is bit outside the box and will be appreciated by anti-traditionalists. All you need is a wood folding ladder. That’s it. Place it anywhere in your home and decorate it as if it were a tree. Make sure you hang ornaments on string of varying lengths in the centre to mimic a full triangle-tree shape. This idea could potentially take up just as much space as a regular Christmas tree, but the idea is too interesting to not have on the list.

We hope this inspires some condo owners to make the most of their space and liven up their decor for the holidays!
