11th Annual Kylemore Kares Charity Golf Tournament raises $15,000 for local organization

Kylemore Communities/Angus Glen Developments recently hosted its 11th Annual Kylemore Kares Charity Golf Tournament at the championship Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham.

Many Kylemore team members, including trades, consultants, and suppliers, gathered on August 24, 2018 to tee up for a good cause. This year, Eric Lariviere, General Manager of Flato Markham Theatre, was in attendance to accept a $15,000 donation to the theatre’s foundation to support the Discovery Education Program and the Every Child, Every Year initiative.

The Every Child, Every Year initiative gives students in grades one to six, enrolled in a Markham school, an opportunity to attend a performance for free, once a year. The program gives students who may not have the means to attend theatrical performances a chance for more exposure to local arts and culture, which is essential for establishing strong community ties.

To date, the Kylemore Kares golf tournament has raised nearly $1.5 million for a variety of organizations. Past contributions were made to Canadian Mental Health, SickKids Foundation, Yellow Brick House, United Way, Children’s Wish, Unionville Home Society, the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, and many more.

“There are so many charities and non-profit organizations who need assistance to continue to do what they do. Our approach has always been to provide support to as many as possible each year, and together we ensure this happens,” says Kylemore Vice-President, Frank Spaziani.
